After fighting a very short battle with cancer Ana Maria has succumbed to the disease.
Ana Maria lived her life to the fullest and as she pleased. After graduating in 1970 from JW Nixon, she attended UT Austin but left her junior year to go traveling with her sister Teresita. This took them on a 2 year adventure to Iran, India, Turkey, Afghanistan and eventually throughout Europe before returning to Laredo. She eventually moved to Los Angeles where she joined a professional flamenco dance troop and moved to Spain for 5 years. Upon returning to Los Angeles she received her Masters in Psychology. From this point on Ana Maria dedicated her life to help battered women, children, and the less fortunate; more often than not pro bono. Ana Maria was a lovely and caring person and we were blessed to have had her in our lives.
She is preceded in death by her father, Agustin F. Gutierrez, grandparents, Agustin Gutierrez and Julia Cabrialez Gutierrez and Andres Garcia and Maria Ancira de Garcia.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Teresita G. Gutierrez, sisters: Teresita Gutierrez, Laura G. Tait (Ronny), Sylvia G. Pacheco (Cesar) and brother Agustin Gutierrez (Tani), aunts: Maria Luisa G. Hensley, Laura G. Jacaman and uncle, Andres Garcia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
