Alejandro Gonzalez, 45, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Few people in our lives are gifted enough to leave a lasting impression on us, even if we only know them for a short time. Such was the blessing of Alejandro Gonzalez.

Alex, as he was known by all those who knew him was such a person. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, a son any parent would be proud of, a brother we could always count on and a friend you could rely on.

From very early on, Alex was not a man of many words but one thing was evident, his passion for baseball. He began his career in Little League and played through high school as a pitcher for Nixon. He was invited to try out for the Milwaukee Brewers where he would no doubt become a star. Instead, he took a greater path and chose to be a star for his family. Never losing his passion for baseball, he was able to visit 13 MLB stadiums with his family. His determination and ethics also poured into his work and his dedication to his job was only matched by his dedication to his family and friends. There was never a favor that was too big or too small for him and his larger than life smile and infectious laugh was all you needed to know it.

Music was also important to Alex. In fact, if it wasn’t for music, he would’ve never met Yadira. They fell in love on the dance floor and it’s been a “baile” ever since. His cook outs will be missed too! Just as in everything else in his life, he gave it his full attention and love. We’ll never forget the get-togethers in his backyard, whether it was for a birthday, anniversary or just because someone said, “nos juntamos?”

Alex has left a very big hole in our hearts and lives but we are grateful and blessed to have known and loved him and to be loved by him. We will miss our Alex…. “babe”, “daddy”, “mano”, “mijo”, “cunis”…for the rest of our lives. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to extend our gratitude for all the prayers, love and support during this difficult time. We want to express our sincerest thanks to Dr. Zamarron and the nurses and staff at Doctor’s hospital’s ICU Covid unit. Special thanks to nurses Hilda and Brittany for the compassion and dedication they gave Alex. It was truly appreciated.

Mr. Gonzalez is preceded in death by his mother; Guadalupe Gonzalez, sister; Lorena Gonzalez, father-in-law; Ramon T. Medina.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Yadira Isabel Gonzalez, children; Alejandro Ramon Gonzalez, and Yaritza Ariana Gonzalez, father; Jose C. Gonzalez, siblings; Maria Esther (Pablo) Rodriguez, Ana Laura (Daniel) Cedillo, and Jose C. Gonzalez, Jr., mother-in-law; Teresa V. Medina, brothers-in-law; Ramon (Trine) Medina, Jr., and Ezequiel Medina, sister-in-law; Yahaira (Jose Arturo) Rodriguez, nephews & nieces; Juan Jose, Pablo IV, David Antonio Rodriguez, Alysha Briana, Daniel Cedillo, Jr., Justin M. Medina, Lynette Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, and Amber Rodriguez.

The family will be receiving guests, Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow to the City Cemetery.

For the safety of the family and the public. The family will also be live streaming the services at www.freddickey.com on Tuesday, starting at 8:00 am.
