Alberto was born on July 11, 1945.  Mr. Peña was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He proudly fought and served his country. Alberto married the love of his life, Hilda Leal Peña, shortly after retiring from the Navy. Together they raised three loving children.  He worked at Mercy Hospital as an RN for many years, and retired in 1996 to care for his two wonderful grandchildren.

Alberto was preceded by death by his parents, Antonio Peña and Manuela Hernandez Peña as well as others.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Peña; Children, Antonio Peña,  Mayra Peña and Marcia (Arturo) Martinez; Granddaughters, Carolina and Victoria Solis. Mr. Peña is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss to your family. We met in Nuevo Laredo late in 1965 as a result of joining the Navy together, and spent the next three years sharing the experiences as shipmates during basic training, and two overseas cruises in the USS JASON (AR-8). We often depended on each other to get through difficult times. Life went on after our return to Nuevo Laredo and we lost track of each other. In between cruises during 1966 thru 1969 he often visited our humble apartment in National City, Ca where my wife Rosario and I enjoyed his ever present friendly tone and good nature. Rest in peace loyal and trusting brother.... Ed Conchas

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss.I remember visiting your home when i used to go with Rosario. Your dad would always keep us laughing with his jokes or stories. He was especially funny when he would go back and forth with Rosario's mom. Each one trying to out do the other. Those are good memories. May he rest in peace.
