Adán Amós González, Jr., 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, Mr. González was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Korea. He also served the United States Postal Service for 35 years, mainly in downtown Laredo, and by monitoring the railway mail into Nuevo Laredo. An avid reader, cook, golfer, and handyman, he was born in San Ygnacio, Texas, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 59, and LULAC Council #12. His innate curiosity about the world and its wonder led him and his wife to visit his son and his family in Spain, and inspired all his children and grandchildren to travel widely. His friends, former co-workers and family will remember him for his tireless patience and goodwill, and his ready, comforting wit.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Adán A. González and Maria del Pilar González, and his siblings: Victor González and Javier González.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Pilar González, children: Adrienne A. González (Diana), Ada A. González, Adán A. González, III (Martha), Adrián A. González (Ventura), Adoleena Aimee González Plunkett (Mark), Admeeda A. González, Adionicio A. González (Ashley) and Adeena A. Kouleyan (Armen), his 12 grandchildren: Adán Guillermo González, Alexandria Maria González-Peterson, John Asa González-Peterson, Paloma Regina González, Anastasia Anais González-Peterson, Alessandro Eduardo González, Marcelo Tomás González, Joaquín Carlos González, Patricio Adán González, Mark Gregory Plunkett, Mia Gisela Plunkett and Pavel Armenag Aram Kouleyan; and his 2 siblings: Idalia G. McKelvey of Santa Fe, NM, and Azael González of Laredo, TX. And special family friend, Jennie Elliott.
