Our most beloved, Aaron Jerome Kelly, Jr. of Irmo, South Carolina tragically departed us on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was a strong, kind, force of nature, and our lives are better having had him with us, even for a short time.
Born on July 16, 1986, Aaron was the firstborn son of Aaron Jerome Kelly, Sr. and Clothilda (Hair) Kelly. A native of Irmo, South Carolina, Aaron was always involved in extracurricular activities, including various sports, chorus, band, and JROTC – keeping with his father’s encouragement to “stay three-dimensional”. His work ethic earned him recognition for all-region teams in football, leading to a full-ride football scholarship to The Citadel, where he was a cadet in Oscar Company and earned a degree in Biology.
He was very proud to be a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and of earning his membership through the local graduate chapter in Maryland.
Being his father’s son to a “T”, Aaron pursued a career in Federal law enforcement. He served with the Secret Service for nearly 14 years, and most recently with the Department of Homeland Security as a Special Agent, which he described in his own words as his “dream job”.
Aaron loved his family deeply, and he touched the lives of so many others through his authenticity and genuineness. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Aaron is preceded in death by his father, Aaron Jerome Kelly, Sr. and paternal grandmother, Bessie Louise Kelly-Goodwin. He is survived by his wife, Tiffani Mason Kelly, daughters Amelia G. Kelly and Masyn K. Kelly, mother Clothilda K. Wilson (Alexander), sister Danielle V. Kelly, brother Jarod J.H. Kelly, and maternal grandparents James E. and Vivian B. Hair.
We will be celebrating Aaron’s life at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, 1320 Trey Dr., in Laredo, Texas on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Services in South Carolina will be announced at a later date.

I taught Aaron (and Robert Denson) in 5th Grade at H.E. Corley Elementary in Irmo. Words cannot express the sadness I feel upon hearing about Aaron's accident! He was a fine young man who I loved dearly. He and Robert gave me a run for my money with their talking and kidding around. I always told them I was going to haunt them one day for all their talking. (I guess Aaron is still going to pay me back.) I think the last time I saw Aaron was at CrossRoads Middle School. I was in the middle lane to pick up my daughter and I saw the 2 of them standing near a tree laughing and playing around but they didn't see me. I rolled down my window and said in a spooky voice, "Aaron and Robert, I am still watching you." Well they started looking around for me but couldn't find me. I said a few more things and they just kept looking. Finally I got out of the car and let them see me. The look on their faces was priceless! I told them I would always be watching them. I am so proud of all Aaron's accomplishments. I know all of you are proud of him too and miss him! I hope his girls are a lot like him, maybe talk a little less. He was a fine young man and I know he will be greatly missed. My love to all of you. Mrs. Beasley

I have known Aaron since elementary school until high school, and I must say he is truly a unique individual. His constant smile and kindness towards everyone never failed to leave a lasting impression. It comes as no surprise to me when I read about all the incredible achievements he has made. His absence will be deeply felt. Aaron is undeniably one of the good souls, and the world could definitely use more people like him. I will keep his family in my prayers. May God give you comfort during this time.

Teammate from elementary school, at Dutch Fork, and then through the citadel. Loved Aaron. Will miss his spirit. Great man, and a good friend.

Sending my condolences to his immediate family. I had the pleasure to meet and develop a brotherhood with Aaron in 2004 at The Citadel. We endured the tough days and laughed at them until his passing. It is so many memories we can recall to pick one but I will never forget those times and will always cherish the brotherhood we created. I love you bro!! DelBoy4L!!
So sorry for your loss. I’m keeping your family in prayer
