Rodolfo Sanchez
December 13, 1967-February 17, 2025
A great man is one who leaves others at a loss after he is gone. – Paul Valery
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Rodolfo Sanchez, age 57, affectionately known to many as Rudy Sanchez into the Kingdom of Our Lord. Rudy was born on December 13, 1967 in Fort Monmouth, Monmouth County, New Jersey to Jose and Maria Luisa Sanchez and at the age of 7 months, Rudy was brought to Laredo, where he lived most of his life prior to moving to Austin, Texas.
Words cannot describe how much Rudy will be missed by his entire family. Not a day went by where he wasn’t thinking of something to make us laugh, whether it was sending silly selfies, random funny quotes or telling us something funny he saw out there. Always with a smile, almost nothing could bring him down as he saw the good in a lot of things.
Rudy wed his soulmate, Martha, marking the beginning of a journey filled with love and companionship. Over the course of eleven years, they built a life together that was rich with shared experiences, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their days were filled with adventures, from spontaneous weekend getaways to quiet evenings spent at home with their two cats, where they would often reminisce about their favorite memories and plans for the future.
Rudy was a licensed physical and massage therapist who worked with the biggest names in the music industry such as the Wilson sisters of Heart; ZZ Top; Slash of Guns & Roses; Motley Crüe and many more artists. Previously, Rudy was also the therapist for the Laredo Heat and at the time, the Laredo Bucks; however, Rudy was presently employed by Ageless Living Home Health Agency and his greatest joy was helping his littlest patients walk, run and move around. At the end of the sessions, Rudy was proud of the progress his young patients achieved with his help as he never gave up on them. Lastly, Rudy was never shy about asking for a photo with whichever celebrity he happened to cross paths with or determined to cross paths with.
The world is a little less bright without Rudy in it, but now his perpetual light will shine upon us as he is granted eternal rest.
A special thank you for our sister-in-law Martha for being Rudy’s voice when he couldn’t speak; for being strong when Rudy did not have strength and for fighting for Rudy’s needs when he could not fight. We will always be grateful.
