Rodolfo Barrera Jr., 61, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2011 surrounded by his family Mr. Barrera, a proud American “Semper Fi” enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. where he proudly served in Vietnam War from May 28, 1970- Feb. 27, 1971. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and many other honorable medals. He then worked for United States Border Patrol and then upon retirement he pastured a church in Zapata, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother; Maria Teresa Prado Barrera. Rodolfo Barrera Jr., is survived by his wife; Cresenda Lee Barrera, father; Rodolfo Barrera Sr., sisters Maria Del Carmen(Samuel) Gomez, Maria Teresa(Robert) Vargas, brothers; Gerardo(Blanca Estella) Barrera, Guillermo Luis(Tamara) Barrera, sister; Graciela (Rodolfo) Rincon and many other relatives. Family members will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm with a memorial ceremony at 7:00pm, Pastor Juan Chapa officiating.
