He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Torres-Rodriguez, daughter Alicia Rodriguez, parents Alfonso and Maria de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez and seven siblings.
He is survived by his children, Raymundo Rodriguez (Inez Perez), Esperanza Rodriguez, Alfonso (Maria†) Rodriguez, Martin Rodriguez, Maria Elena (Ramiro) Hernandez, Yolanda (Jose Rodriguez) Escobedo, Victor Rodriguez, Alberto Rodriguez; grandchildren, Reymundo (Veronica), Eduardo, Oscar (Anna), Claudia (German), Sergio (Jessica), Ricardo (Patricia), Veronica, Nadia (Ramon), Mariela, Graciela (Javier), Jorge (Brenda), Ruben (Selina), Cynthia (Preston), Ramiro Jr., and Monica (J.T.).
