Anita L. Saucedo, age 87 passed away on December 28, 2017, in Dallas, Texas. Anita was the youngest of 12 brothers and sisters born to Thomas and Luz Duncan on February 14, 1930, in Laredo, Texas. She died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and now rests with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Anita’s greatest pleasure in life and her legacy is her family. She was proud to be a Duncan and spent most of her time doing what she enjoyed most, being with her family. As her children spread their wings and left the Laredo nest, she too moved to San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin and ultimately to Allen, Texas where she spent the last 25 years of her life with Lulu, Laura, Martin, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ramiro “Jr.” who still lives in Laredo was always her home base.
Whenever Anita was in Laredo, she would visit her old neighborhood and family members who still lived there. To keep up with family, she would often be found talking on the phone with her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Her first cell phone opened up a whole new world of communication for her. Anita never met a stranger and her friendly welcoming disposition warmed many a heart.
We would like to thank our sister Laura and her family who cared for her during her the later stages of Alzheimer’s.
Anita is survived by her sister’s, Rosemary (†Joe Abbot) and Ida (†Johnny Temple); her children, Ramiro Saucedo Jr. (Paty), Maria “Lulu”, Laura Harris (David), Martin (Virginia); grandchildren, Ramiro “Rambo” Saucedo III (Cynthia), Christine, Wesley, Dr. Alexander Saucedo, and Erik (Chandler); great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Nolan Saucedo, Michael Hernandez and Andrew Serna; sister-in-law; Maria “Chuy” Duncan along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ramiro Saucedo, brothers, Robert, Thomas Wesley (†Enriqueta), Alfredo (†Josephine) and Clarence; sisters, Mary (†Joe Guernsey), Angela (†Johnny Gill), Lina Mae (†Mike Proscelle), Mabel (†Tomas Oliveira), Mildred (†Roy Mackey) and grandson Ricardo J. Hernandez.
