Violeta Zertuche Rico

December 19,1964-July 30, 2024

Violeta Zertuche Rico, was called to heaven on Tuesday, July 30th at the age of 59. She was a kind hearted, loving spirit who lived life with unparalleled zest and charisma. Her presence touched everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and affection.

Violeta was a loving wife, daughter, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend. She had an extraordinary ability to make each person she encountered feel special and valued. Never shy to compliment, she made everyone feel loved and important.

She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and fun. She will be remembered by her family and friends as someone who could always brighten even the darkest of days. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched with her gentle and caring presence.

She is survived by her husband Gil B.Rico, her parents Ramon and Violeta Zertuche, her siblings, Selika and Daniel Salinas, Ramon and Adriana Zertuche and her nieces and nephews-Ramon III, Daniel and Clarissa Salinas, Eduardo and Cristina Salinas, Guillermo Salinas, Gabriela and Alonso Gonzalez, Juan Carlos Alarcon and Francisco Alarcon and aunt Maria Esther Rodriguez. Great niece and nephew Alexandra Salinas and Alonso Gabriel Gonzalez .

She is preceded in death by her beloved sister Kristina Zertuche Alarcon and her lovely mother in law Maria Lidya Botello Rico and uncle Carlos Rodriguez. Violeta’s memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Leaving a legacy of joy and laughter that will continue to inspire all who remember her.

The family will be receiving guests on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 7:30-9:30 am at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services. A mass will follow at 10:00 am at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church followed by the interment at the Laredo Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Violeta’s life was a testament to living happily and loving deeply. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact on our lives was profound and enduring. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the joy she brought to all of us.

Violeta was such a kind friend in high school when loving friends like her were so needed. Later in life when I’d bump into on the streets of Laredo, she was alway curious what was happening with me and my life and of course full of beautiful compliments.
