Victor Gonzalez

Laredo centenarian, Victor Gonzalez went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 6, 2024.  Victor was born on July 28, 1924, and was preceded by his parents Cosme and Tomasa Gonzalez, his spouse, Maria E. Gonzalez as well as his brothers Vicente and Trine Gonzalez.  He is survived by his son, Victor M. Gonzalez, spouse, Sandra Gonzalez, their children: Austin Gonzalez, Travis Gonzalez and his daughter, Rosa E. Gonzalez as well as other nieces and nephews.

Victor was a talented craftsman, working in construction all his life, building and remodeling homes, making furniture including computer desks for his son, and toys for his grandchildren as well as many other things. His exceptional wood working skills combined with his creativity resulted in uniquely customized designs that we were all very proud of.  He also volunteered his services as needed in the service of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In his retirement, Victor loved spending long hours at the Laredo Public Library where he enjoyed reading and learning everything from history to foreign languages.  In his 80’s Victor started teaching himself German and would enjoy reading the German version of the Holy Bible, “Heilige Bibel”.  Victor was also an avid musician playing the guitar, piano, accordion and most recently the lyre.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Fred Dickey Funeral Home in Laredo, Texas with the Visitation from 8am-10am followed by the Service from 10am-10:45am with an Interment following the service at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Laredo, Texas.
