Obituary

Sara Alicia Sandoval, 57, entered eternal rest surrounded by family on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Sara was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She was a graduate of Nixon High School, class of 1983. She attended Laredo College and graduated from TAMIU with a degree in education. She spent 38 years with the Laredo Independent School District, teaching the future generation at Santo Nino, Kawas, and Ryan Elementary Schools. She was also in charge of the yearbook at Ryan Elementary School for over 15 years and was nominated for the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award. She was a devout CCD teacher for 10 years at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She was also an active booster club officer at United High School from 2008–2021. She loved baking, painting, and crafts. Sara was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Roberto Sanchez.

Sara is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jose Ruben Sandoval, Jr.; daughter, Aryana Rochelle Sandoval; sons, Jaime Roberto Sandoval, and Jose Ruben Sandoval III (JR); mother, Sara Alicia Romero; stepfather, Arturo Romero; parents-in-law, Jose Ruben Sandoval, and Juanita Irma Sandoval; brother, Ricardo Javier Sanchez; nephews and nieces, as well as other family and friends.

The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, followed by a mass at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, located at 9350 Amber Ave, Laredo, TX 78045. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

My Dearest Rubén, My most sincere deepest condolences?? I can only imagine how hard this is for the family I’m still in disbelief ? Our sincere condolences to the family, Mrs.Sarita was a wonderful teacher to our son Akiles in Ryan Elementary this pass year he gradúate from 5th grade. He always come back to home with some story, I remember one day he told me mom my teacher made the most wonderful brownies that I never tasted, with a little piece in his hand, tasted!!
