Samantha Marie Rodriguez, 26, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Samantha was a charismatic, dedicated, and loving daughter, sister, niece, and friend. She graduated Texas A&M International University with a Bachelors Degree in English and Minor in Chemistry. To further her education, she was in the process of obtaining her Masters Degree in Reading Education at Texas State University. Samantha was a member of the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra throughout her high school and college years. She loved reading, BTS, frogs, and her cat Bell.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria E. “Gina” Rodriguez; maternal- grandfather, Jose Vazquez, Jr.; paternal-grandparents, Raul & Berta Rodriguez.
Samantha is survived by her father; Raul J. Rodriguez; sister, Nicole G. Rodriguez; maternal-grandmother, Esther F. Vazquez; maternal aunts & uncles, Laura (Joe) Gutierrez, Mariana (Steve) Royer and Monica (Paul) Green; paternal aunts & uncles, Ramon (Martha) Rodriguez, and Ana (John) R. Munoz; as well as cousins, other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.
The family will be receiving guests on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be continuing on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services where a chapel service will be officiated at 9:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Words cannot fully describe how sorry I am for your loss. Sam will always be remembered as an individual who was a leader, brilliant, kind, witty, and so much more. I recall how talented she was in orchestra and how much I admired her. I pray for her eternal rest, and I pray that God may grant her family strength during this time of grief. May your guardian angels be with you always.

My condolences to the family. I was Samantha's fifth grade teacher at Ryan Elementary. I was saddened to hear of her passing. She was too young. My prayers are with the family in this time of need.

Sam was a rare combination of brilliant and goofy, and she shone brightly in all of her classes at Texas State University. I feel so lucky to have gotten to hang out with her for the challenging year of 2020 as we met for classes in person and later, online. She loved the humans in her life so much; I think we all feel a little glad to have known her. Once the pain subsides, I wish for light and laughter for her family and community when you think of her. I will miss her.
