Sam was a rare combination of brilliant and goofy, and she shone brightly in all of her classes at Texas State University. I feel so lucky to have gotten to hang out with her for the challenging year of 2020 as we met for classes in person and later, online. She loved the humans in her life so much; I think we all feel a little glad to have known her. Once the pain subsides, I wish for light and laughter for her family and community when you think of her.
I will miss her.
