Roque Felipe Perez, age 85, entered into eternal rest on November 9, 2022 and was reunited with the love of his life, SARA H. PEREZ
He was a graduate of St. Agustine High School class of 1955. He later attended Laredo Junior College for one year. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked at the Laredo National Bank briefly, and then he began his career at the US Post Office from November 9, 1965 until January 3, 2001 when he retired.
Roque had a wonderful life. He was a person who would make you smile or laugh with what he had to say. He was always kind and considerate to everyone. As a youngster he would always hum or sing parts of a song as he would walk out of the house. He loved to dance to any tune. He loved his family very much especially his mother. Roque had many friends during his lifetime. His two best friends were Humberto “Beto” Guerra and James “Jimmy” John Orfila. Roque enjoyed playing his favorite sport golf.
In his later years he looked forward to drinking coffee with his friends at Safari Restaurant, going to the golf course and visiting pawn shops to buy stuff. He was very generous to everyone. He believed in helping everyone as much as you can just like his mother taught him. Roque will be missed by all who knew him from friends to family. However, he will be especially missed by his son because he was not only a great father but the best father anyone could ask for. He was truly a good man.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fidel Perez & ROSA BENAVIDES; mother-in-law, ROSA Z. HERNANDEZ; siblings, Benito Segundo (Maria+) Perez, Olga (Juan+) Guerra, Fidel (Alicia) Perez, Juan (Angelina+) Perez, Rosa Elena (Octavio+) Guajardo, and Edna (Rodolfo+) Oliveira.
Roque is survived by his son, RODRIGO PEREZ; siblings, Humberto (Idalia) Perez, Alejandro (Alma) Perez, Catalina (Reynaldo+) Garza; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and other family & friends.
