It is with great sadness that the family of Rolando Ramos announces his passing, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the age of 49 years.
Mr. Ramos was a compassionate, kind-hearted, selfless, humble, loving, all around great son, brother, cousin, uncle, educator and friend. He was a devout Catholic, always showing God’s love.
Mr. Ramos received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas in recreation and leisure studies with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation. He pursued a teaching career through the alternative certification program at Texas A&M International University. Mr. Ramos had been a UISD employee for 19 years where he performed his duty with much love, dedication and commitment to his students, his colleagues, and his school. Coach Ramos as fondly known was highly successful in the classroom and on the court (basketball and volleyball) making it a priority to always motivate his students and coworkers. Coach Ramos was such a kind person… Being in his presence was just relieving. He was well respected and will be missed by all who loved and cared for him.
Mr. Ramos was predeceased by his father, Francisco Ramos, Sr. and sister, Maria Isabel Ramos Perez.
He will be lovingly be remembered by his mother, Maria I. Liendo Ramos; siblings, Diana I. Ramos, Francisco (Sylvia) Ramos, Jr. Andres Ramos, Reynaldo (Patricia) Ramos, Esmeralda Ramos, Blanca E. (John) Stevenson, Ruby Y. Ramos, Dolores A. (Ron) Gaylord, Carlos R. (Jessica) Ramos, Virginia Ramos and Margaret (Michael) Boswell, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018, at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. A funeral mass will start at 8:30 am. Pallbearers will be Francisco Ramos, Jr., Andres Ramos, Reynaldo Ramos, Carlos R. Ramos, Juan G. Perez, Jr., Matthew J. Stevenson, Michael E. Boswell, III, and Amador Arredondo, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramiro Ortiz, Andres Ramos, Jr., Michael C. Ramos, and United South Middle & High School coaching staff. Inurnment will be at a later day.

Aunt Mary and all my cousins I'm so heartbroken for all of you! I remember our fun (hot) trips to Texas and the laughs we shared. Looking forward to seeing as many of you as we can this week In hopes of being consoling and wrapping our arms around as Many as possible. Love you all so much! words fail to express the loss you must be feeling. Role was a beautiful soul. May all the loving memories you have and are shared with you bring you peace, comfort, and strength. My heart is with you in your time of sorrow. Sometimes, a person can come into your life and you are blessed by knowing them. I was blessed by knowing him. He was a treasure. May he rest in peace and may your heart be lightened by the love that surrounds you.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Ramos family. My heart and prayers are with you. I met Rolando in second grade when I was invited to join his group. The first thing I noticed about him were his beautiful hands, which he was using to color. Fast forward about 30 years, and once again I found myself in his group coaching middle school girls' sports. His perfect handwriting warmly reminded me of my childhood. I will always remember him as the most kind-hearted and patient individual that I ever met. May he rest in peace.
Rest In Piece my friend! I'll never forget those fun days hanging out with you when you lived below us in Denton. We had so much fun and it doesn't seem like it was 25 years aho. You were one of the sweetest, kindest souls I ever met and I will miss you always. Gone too soon. Love and miss you my friend.
