Rodolfo Valentin Lopez, 89, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Mr. Lopez was a Veteran for the United States Navy proudly serving 4 tours. He served during the Korean War and received several medals and citations. He worked for LISD for 39 years, 10 of those as principal until his retirement in 1994. He loved hunting and spending time at the ranch, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfonzo and Ramona Lopez; daughter, Anna Laura L. Krueger; brothers, Florencio Lopez and Margarito Lopez.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Maria J. Lopez; children, Rodolfo (Rosa) Lopez Jr., Rolando Lopez, Gracie L. Ramirez, Rene (Dora) Lopez, Luis A. Lopez; siblings, Consuelo (Victor+) Gonzalez, Luis (Priscilla) Lopez, Beatriz (Alfredo) Leal, Alfonso (Rita+) Lopez Jr., Valentin (Cynthia) Lopez, Ramon (Yolanda) Lopez; sister-in-laws, Elida R. Lopez, and Diamantina Lopez, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving guests, Monday, July 27, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. A chapel service will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.

Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59 of Laredo and presentation of the U.S. flag will be provided by the U.S. Navy. Pallbearers will be Rodolfo Lopez Jr., Rolando Lopez, Rolando Lopez Jr., Rene Lopez, Luis A. Lopez, and Peter Ramirez.

For the safety of the family and the public. The family will be live streaming the services at www.freddickey.com on both days of the funeral services.
