Our beloved Dad Reyes Vasquez, 70, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
He was born and raised in Oilton, Texas. Upon graduation from Bruni High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Army. As a Vietnam War veteran, he sacrificed to defend our nation and freedom, earning many medals of honor. He is our HERO for his bravery, courage, and strength. He will always remain in our hearts.
Mr. Vasquez is preceded in death by his parents, Refugio Sr. and Marta Vasquez; siblings, Virginia V. Diaz, Herminia V. Rodriguez, Adan Vasquez, and Aurora Sanchez.
Left to cherish his memories are his six loving daughters, Sandra Beatriz Garcia, Angelica Flores, Adriana Veronica Vasquez (Eduardo Galvan), Ruby Patricia Vasquez, Natalie (Daniel) Dominguez, Annette Zarai Vasquez (Miguel Reyes); His pride and joy, 15 grandchildren, Valerie N. Buitron, Javier A. Garcia, III, Abigail Flores, Alexis Flores, Christian Rey Vasquez, Arianna Victoria Vasquez, Jaime David Galvan, Andres Eduardo Galvan, Pedro Borrego, Jr., Rebeka R. Borrego, Luis Esteban Borrego, Joelle L. Borrego, Juaquin Navarro, Jovanni Navarro, and Joseluis Reyes; mother of his children, Beatriz T. Lerma; siblings, Susana Gonzalez from Corpus Christi, TX , Refugio Vasquez, Jr., from Laredo, TX, Carmen Vasquez, from Mathis, TX, Margarita Parhm from San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends who will greatly miss him.
The family will be receiving guests, Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. A chapel service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 59 of Laredo and presentation of the U.S. flag will be provided by the U.S. Army flag detail of San Antonio, TX, at the Veteran Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Miguel Reyes, Daniel Dominguez, Eduardo Galvan, Christian Rey Galvan, Jaime David Galvan, Luis Esteban Borrego, Pedro Borrego, Jr., Erik Medina, and Alfonso Ferreyro.
Due to the COVID pandemic and for the safety of all, the family will also be live streaming the funeral services including a Holy Rosary at www.freddickey.com on Sunday, starting at 5:00 pm.
