On October 14, 2025, Raymundo Hernandez Jr. was called to his heavenly rest. Raymundo was a man of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Those who knew him recognized his steady presence—a man who lived his values through loyalty, kindness, and a generous giving spirit.
A veteran of the United States Army National Guard, Raymundo served his country with honor and pride, earning an honorable discharge for his dedication and discipline. The values he carried from his service—commitment, teamwork, and resilience—guided him throughout his life.
His love for sports and fishing reflected his patient spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Many will remember him for his culinary talent and generosity, sharing his passion for fine cooking with others through his 27 years as General Manager at Jitney Jungle Gourmet Store and through countless family gatherings. Whether preparing a meal, sharing a witty remark, or offering a helping hand, Raymundo’s humor and warmth always shined through.
He was especially proud of his sportsmanship and time as a basketball player, representing the Martin Tigers with dedication and pride. As a proud Martin Tiger alumnus, Raymundo often shared stories of his playing days and the joy of following in the footsteps of his beloved brother, Ramiro Hernandez, continuing a legacy of athletic spirit and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
Raymundo’s playful spirit, resilience, and strength were the foundation of his life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a joyful great-grandfather.
As we honor his memory, let us embrace the beautiful qualities he shared with us and carry on his legacy of love and kindness. Raymundo inspired his children and grandchildren to persevere through life’s challenges, always reminding us to be strong, keep moving forward, and never give up—we will forever hold his love, perseverance, and playful outlook on life close.
