Raquel R. Tijerina was born on Nov. 22, 1970 and went to heaven on May, 5, 2022.  She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Paul A. Tijerina, her beloved fur baby Ms. KitKat, sister Maria Luisa Dominguez husband (Victor), brothers Fernando and Efrain Jr and Jose Francisco Rodriguez and wife (Martha). Mother in law Tomi Ramos and husband (CG). Sister In law Terri and husband (Joel) Urdiales, plus numerous niece’s and nephew’s and many friends. She is preceded in Death by her parents, Efrain and Maria del Socorro Rodriguez, brother Mario Rodriguez and her beloved fur son Smokey Tijerina.

Raquel attended college at Texas A&M in Kingsville where she studied Art. Her passion for art lead her to become an Art Teacher. Her last job was with Northside ISD. She was talented and dedicated in teaching art and loved planning her lessons and special Projects every school year. She will always be remembered as Mrs. T.

Although she left us at a young age of 51, we will always remember her as loving, kind, and a beautiful soul. Until we meet again.

A Visitation will be held at Castle Ridge Mortuary on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 6:00 p.m.  She will then have Visitation on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Fred Dickey Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  On Thursday, May 19, 2022, there will be continued Visitation at Fred Dickey Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Laredo City Cemetery.
