With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ramona “Mona” Granados, who departed this world on November 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 21, 1942, in Laredo, Texas, Mona was a radiant source of love, compassion, and warmth to all who were blessed to know her.
Mona was a devoted wife to her cherished husband, Eliodoro Granados, with whom she shared 60 years of unwavering love and partnership. Together, they built a foundation of faith, strength, and unity that shaped generations of family bonds. As a nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mona embodied the true meaning of devotion. She carried an innate ability to make each person in her life feel seen, loved, and supported.
Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched countless lives, and her legacy of love, resilience, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Mona is preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Pedro Palizo Sr. and Petra Molina Palizo, as well as her siblings Pedro Palizo Jr., Raquel Palizo, and Rosal Palizo.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Eliodoro Granados; her children Patricia (Martin) Leal and Graciela (Jerome) Rosales; her seven grandchildren, Jerome (Christina) Rosales Jr., Steven (Maria) Loyo, Britney (John) Witt, Justine Rosales, Pedro Granados, Brandon (Jackie) Rosales, and Madison Grace Rosales; and her five great-grandchildren, Aiden Loyo, Ryan Loyo, Mia Riley Loyo, Ricardo Ramirez-Rosales, and Mia Amara Rosales. She is also survived by her siblings Sergio (Leticia) Palizo, Agapito (Anita) Palizo, Javier (Norma) Palizo, Olga Palizo; and sister-in-law Maria Luisa Palizo, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Mona will be deeply missed, but her love will remain an everlasting light in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 24, 2025 from the funeral home to San Agustin Cathedral. Memorial mass will begin at 10:00 am. Inurnment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
