Obituary

Paula Medina Castillo, born March 2, 1923 in Gregory, Texas went before the Lord, November 3, 2020 at the age of 97.

Paulita as she was known was a caring, loving person to all her family, she was always there when needed and never said no. She will always be treasured in our hearts; we will always remember the great gatherings we had at her home as a family, her great Christmas tamaladas and other grand occasions. Paulita was one of the first employees at La Posada Hotel, as an executive housekeeper for over 25 years. She was then employed by L.I.S.D at Christen Middle School in the food service department for 25 plus years where she retired and enjoyed a great joyful life.

Mrs. Castillo was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Castillo, Sr.; parents, Doroteo and Celsa Medina; sisters, Juana (Simon+) Aguilar, Inocencia (Guadalupe+) Gonzalez; brother, Julio Medina.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jose (Briseida) Castillo, Jr., Raymundo (Reyna+) Castillo; daughter, Maria (Jose) Hinojosa; sister, Luz (Felix+) Palacios; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends who will greatly miss her.

The family will receive guests on Monday, November 9, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. A chapel service will start at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
