Patricia Cadena Villarreal, 71, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 6, 2025. Ms. Villarreal was a warm and caring woman whose smile truly radiated joy. Her loving nature left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She dedicated many years to her role as a receptionist at Col. Santos Benavidez Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless children- and even their children- over the years. She was not only a devoted mother but also a proud and loving grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnoldo M. and Dolores P. Cadena.

She is survived by her children, Gil R. Villarreal and Patricia (Simon) Ybarra; grandchildren, Sandra Grace and Samuel E. Ybarra; siblings, Arnoldo (Josefina) Cadena, Priscilla (Peter) Ferden and Armando E. (Bertila) Cadena; as well as other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church located on 555 E. Del Mar Blvd.

I graduated with Patricia and remember her natural beauty and caring personality. She was a good friend who was genuinely interested in her friends. Peace and God’s speed to her children and family at large. Eliza May, Nixon class of ‘72.

My condolences to the family of Patsy, my first cousin, from Elsa Paredes Terry, I'm the daughter of Titol Paredes, (Enrique Paredes Jr n Wife Araceli, I have beautiful memories of Patsy. I still can't believe you left this world so young my beautiful cousin. I carry you in my heart till we meet. 🙏🙏🙏❤️

There’s so many memories that go back with Patsy and I I used to live and share her parents as she with mine. I spent many of nights there with her and her family We walked to school meet on Clark street cont to walk pick up Billie Abrego then Sometimes Jane Cigarroa cont to Lamar middle school we would sometimes make a run for Whatabuger on malchine or Glass kitchen crazy lunch runs 😱middle school thur High school we had crazy fun days🤗 Beautiful woman beautiful soul we were so blessed to have met and had a wonderful friendship REST IN PEACE MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND 🌹

In high school, she and I were best friends who spent so much time together singing songs into the night, practicing dance moves for Golden Spurs, and making big plans for a wonderful future. Dear family of Patsy, My deepest condolences for Patsy's passing. It has been many many years since we have seen each other. Please accept our deepest condolences from the family (children) of Jose and Angelina Mendez of San Antonio. We all have very fond memories of our families being together when we were young. I remember my last conversation with Patsy in 2018 when my Tia Imelda passed away and I sent her some pictures of Tia Dolores and my mom when they were young and sitting on a couch laughing and then a picture of my dad with Tio Nono when they were both in the Coast Guard. I know she and my sister Cynthia Mendez kept in touch since 2018 and had planned to meet up sometime. May Patsy rest in peace and her welcome into our Lord Jesus arms along with that of the arms of Tio and Tia as well.

I had the enormous pleasure of working alongside her for so many years back at CSBS and SIE besides the daycare program. Definitely she was the heart and soul of both. She irradiated that warm welcoming feeling that will make everyone truly appreciated. Such an angel Pat. My condolences and prayers for the whole family.

My deepest condolences to Pat's family. I was a teacher at CSBS and San Isidro Elementary when Pat was our front desk receptionist. She was a true joy to talk to every day and always had a smile on her face for all of our staff and students. She will be truly missed by everyone. ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Rest in Eternal Peace Pat.
