Obituary

Otilia (Tila) G. Hinojosa, was born on January 20, 1913 in Concepcion (Duval County), Texas to a prominent pioneer family and passed away on January 19, 2010 in Laredo, Texas. She was raised on La Candelaria family dairy farm and ranch, and graduated from Falfurrias High School. After furthering her education, she then taught school in Concepcion in the schoolhouse and church donated by her paternal grandfather, Manuel Garcia and maternal grandfather, Julian Palacios. She married on August 8, 1937 to Alfredo Hinojosa Jr. and moved to Benavides, Texas and later relocated to Laredo in 1942. After raising her two children as a housewife, she and her husband enjoyed collecting antiques throughout their retired years. She was a devoted Catholic and a strong believer in Rosary devotion, while also being a member of the Miraculous Medal Association. She was preceded in death by her parents Indalecio and Luisa Palacios-Garcia, sisters; Rafaela G. Saenz, Luisa Saenz, Bernarda G. Barrera, and brother Indalecio Garcia Jr., plus, several nieces and nephews from throughout South Texas. She is survived by her husband of 72 years of marriage, Alfredo Hinojosa Jr., her daughter, Maria Christina (Augusto) H. Bustamante of Bogota, Colombia; and son, Jose Mario (Eunice) Hinojosa Sr. of Laredo and Las Pulgas Ranch in Concepcion. She has two maternal grandsons, Carlos Augusto Bustamante and Andres Bustamante, also from Bogota, Colombia and her only paternal grandson, Jose Mario Hinojosa Jr. (Denise), from Laredo. Also, nephews, nieces and numerous relatives plus many close friends and neighbors. We would like to give thanks to Dr. Milton Haber & Staff; caretakers: Juanita, Olivia and Imelda for their meritorious services. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 23, 2010 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Everyone is encouraged to meet at the church. -In lieu of flowers, please bring potted plants in her memory. Reciban nuestras condolencias. En Revelación o Apocalipsis 21:4 dice que "Dios limpiara toda lágrima de los ojos y la muerte no será más, ni existirá ya mas lamento ni clamor ni dolor". Y en Hechos 24:15 dice que "va ha haber una resurrección". Jehova Dios muy pronto acabará con toda la maldad y el sufrimiento incluyendo las guerras, el odio, los desastres naturales y las enfermedades ya que por estas causas y muchas más morimos. Además nos dice que tiene el deseo de devolverles la vida a nuestros seres queridos que hayan muerto.
