In Loving Memory of Oscar Alvarado Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Oscar Alvarado Sr. who peacefully departed this life at the age of 81 surrounded by his family and loved ones.  Oscar was born on February 19, 1943, to the union of Esperanza Olivares Galan and Jorge Alvarado Muraira in Villaldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Oscar was a devoted husband to Alma Araceli Alvarado, with whom he shared 55 years of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three children: Esperanza Gutierrez (Enrique Gutierrez Sr.), Lisbeth Alvarado (Juan Ivanoff), and Oscar Alvarado Jr. (Mariella Chaires-Alvarado).

In his retirement, Oscar found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep passion for gardening, cultivating his love for nature while sharing that joy with his grandchildren. His love of baseball was passed down to his grandchildren, and many happy days were spent bonding over the game. Oscar also enjoyed music, often filling the home with the sounds that brought him comfort, and he cherished family gatherings filled with fun, laughter, and togetherness.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Esperanza Olivares Galan and Jorge Alvarado Muraira. Oscar’s legacy continues through his cherished wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Irma Garcia (+Ramiro Garcia) and Jorge Alvarado (Doris Alvarado), who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Oscar was a proud grandfather to Ingryd Gutierrez (Dario Madrigal), Enrique Gutierrez Jr., Everardo Gutierrez, Sophia Ivanoff, Victoria Ivanoff, Alejandro Ivanoff, Oscar Alvarado III, and Octavio Alvarado. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Gianni N. Sanchez, Darely Madrigal, Dario Madrigal, and Enrique Gutierrez III.

Oscar’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion to his family and friends will never be forgotten. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional medical team who provided care for Oscar: Dr. Benson Huang, Jackie Sauceda (FNP), Dr. Armando Hinojosa, Angel Serna, Dr. Mohsen Ghadimi-Mahani, and Vara Hospice Care. Our sincerest thanks to the many friends, neighbors, and well-wishers for their emotional and practical support during this time.

Funeral Services
The family will be receiving guests on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

En memoria de Oscar Alvarado Sr.

Con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado padre, Oscar Alvarado Sr. quien pacíficamente partió de esta vida a la edad de 80 años rodeado de su familia y seres queridos.  Oscar nació el 19 de febrero de 1943, de la unión de Esperanza Olivares Galán y Jorge Alvarado Muraira en Villaldama, Nuevo León, México.

Oscar fue un esposo devoto de Alma Araceli Alvarado, con quien compartió 55 años de amor, risas y compromiso inquebrantable. Juntos criaron a tres hijos: Esperanza Gutiérrez (Enrique Gutiérrez Sr.), Lisbeth Alvarado (Juan Ivanoff) y Oscar Alvarado Jr. (Mariella Chaires-Alvarado).

En su retiro, Oscar encontró alegría en los placeres simples de la vida. Tenía una profunda pasión por la jardinería, cultivando su amor por la naturaleza mientras compartía esa alegría con sus nietos. Su amor por el béisbol pasó a sus nietos y pasó muchos días felices uniéndose al juego. Oscar también disfrutaba de la música, a menudo llenaba el hogar con sonidos que le brindaban consuelo, y apreciaba las reuniones familiares llenas de diversión, risas y unión.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus queridos padres, Esperanza Olivares Galán y Jorge Alvarado Muraira. El legado de Oscar continúa a través de su querida esposa, hijos, nietos y bisnietos. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, Irma García (+Ramiro García) y Jorge Alvarado (Doris Alvarado), quienes siempre llevarán su memoria en sus corazones.

Oscar fue un orgulloso abuelo de Ingryd Gutiérrez (Dario Madrigal), Enrique Gutiérrez Jr., Everardo Gutiérrez, Sophia Ivanoff, Victoria Ivanoff, Alejandro Ivanoff, Oscar Alvarado III y Octavio Alvarado. También fue un cariñoso bisabuelo de Gianni N. Sánchez, Darely Madrigal, Darío Madrigal y Enrique Gutiérrez III.

El legado de amor, fortaleza y devoción de Oscar hacia su familia y amigos nunca será olvidado. Su bondad, generosidad y espíritu gentil tocaron las vidas de todos los que lo conocieron. Lo extrañaremos profundamente, pero su recuerdo vivirá en los corazones de sus seres queridos.

Servicios funerarios
La familia recibirá invitados el viernes 3 de enero de 2025 en Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. A las 19.30 horas se rezará el rosario.

La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo el sábado 4 de enero de 2025, a partir de las 10:00 am en la Iglesia Católica Divine Mercy. Seguirá el entierro en el Cementerio Católico Calvary.
