Olga Osterberg

Mrs. Olga Osterberg, 87, passed away on March 23, 2010 in Laredo, Texas, after a brief illness. Mom or “Ganga” as all her family called her was born in Laredo, Texas on December 14, 1922. She moved from Laredo and spent the last 40 years in El Paso, Texas where she worked side by side with her husband Robert in their clothing and shoe business. Olga had returned to Laredo recently to be closer to her family but left many friends in El Paso with whom she was in constant contact. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Osterberg, her parents Fabricio and Socorro Lopez Villarreal, her son Julian L. Garcia, Jr. and her brothers Fabricio, Jr., Roberto, Jorge and Victor Villarreal. Olga is survived by her daughter Sylvia (Mario) Santos, her sons, George R. (Lois) Garcia, Luis Eduardo Garcia and her step-daughter Beth Hudson of New Jersey. Her grandchildren, Judy (Juan) Campos, Gigi (Victor) Perez, Mario (Rosa Isela) Santos, III, Delfino Santos and Kristina (Justin) Howell; step-grandson Austin Hudson; great grandchildren, Rene (Anabul) Perez, Sylvia D. Perez, Betty (Victor) Ortiz, Mario Santos IV, Rosemary Santos, Linda Santos, Judith Santos and Jaxon Howell; great-great grandchildren, Rene and Ryan Perez and Amberly Ortiz. Her loving sister, Norma V. Rodriguez, her brothers, Oscar, Carlos and Jessie Villarreal and her nieces Norma Saenz and Elsa (Andres) Sillor with whom she enjoyed traveling with. Olga is also survived by many nephews and nieces and other family members. The family wishes to thank Dr. Melissa Benavides and Dr. Ralph Nimchan, her personal doctors, Dr. Padron and all the personnel of the emergency room at Doctor’s Hospital who attended our mother. We will honor our mother’s request not to have any services but we will take her ashes and her husband’s to their special place.
