Martin A. “Pin” Garcia (1961-2024)
Dedicated son, brother, uncle, and cousin, Martin Alfonso “Pin” Garcia, 63, of Laredo, TX died on June 25, 2024. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him.
Pin was born in Laredo, TX to Anibal C. Garcia and Elva Lozano-Garcia on January 31, 1961. The second son, he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and cousins. A lifelong Laredoan, Pin attended San Augustine High School and Martin High School. Through his career, Pin visited almost all 50 states making new friends along the way. With wide interests and varied collections, Pin had no shortage of stories of the open road and exploring different parts of the country. Those that knew him will always remember his keen eye for treasures, enjoying the hunt as much as the result. Pin forever blessed his family and friends with unique and special mementos from his travels. An avid animal lover, Pin took great joy in spoiling his pets beyond measure. His boisterous laugh filled every room he was in, and he will always be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help any friend in need.
Pin was preceded in death by his parents, Anibal C. Garcia and Elva Lozano-Garcia. He leaves behind brother Anibal G. “Jerry” (Elsa) Garcia,and sisters Diana “Dee-Dee” (Tony) Bell, and Ana (Robert) Jacaman-Longoria. His nieces Anel (Warren) Jennings, Andrea (Justin) Jacaman, Aria (Henry) Jacaman, Amanda Jacaman, Laura Garcia, and MaryLouise Longoria. Beloved cousins Maricela (Pat) Spagon, Arabella Olivarez Coble, Arturo (Carmen) Olivarez, Jesus R. Meza, Thelma (Alex) Gutierrez, Michael A. Meza, Hugo (Graciela) Meza, Carlos Maldonado, Alfonso Maldonado, Juan Jose Maldonado and Jorge Maldonado.
