Our beloved mother, Martha Elena Garza Cuellar, age 83, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. “Marty” as she was affectionately called, was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and selflessly gave her time. She was a loyal daughter to her mother Olga Garza, driving her to church and other activities daily. She was a devout Catholic, and a loving wife to her husband, Roberto, and a dedicated mother to her children. She was very active in all her children’s scholastic and extracurricular activities. For years she volunteered with the PTA, numerous church organizations, and was always quick to offer rides to anyone, without hesitation. Her cheerful disposition and kindhearted spirit was infectious. Marty graciously opened the doors to her home providing meals and wise words of advice to all her nieces, nephews and friends. She was the “favorite” aunt and in her later years, an affectionate grandmother to her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Cuellar, parents, Sabino and Olga Garza, brothers, Sabino “Chago” and Carlos Garza and her fur-baby Pixie.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Roberto “Bobby” Jr. (Cynthia Lorena) Cuellar, her loving daughter and caregiver Veronica Marie Cuellar, Ricardo D. (Norma) Cuellar as well as her grandchildren, Mark Rory Barrera, Daniella Cuellar, and Roberto “Bobby” Cuellar III, her sisters, Rosa Garza Cantu, Anna Garza (Esteban) Ramos, Judith Garza Gutierrez, and Sylvia Garza Palumbo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
