Mario Peña, 82, born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, was ushered into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on November 7, 2021 surrounded by his children at his side.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Enriqueta M. Peña and his three children: Son, Mario (Maribel) Peña Jr., and daughters Joanna (Roger) García III and Alexandra (Rolando) Gonzalez, his dear grand-children: Mario Pena III, Ashley Gwen Garcia, Eduardo Garcia, David Garcia, Cristobal Peña, Mariano Peña , Rolando González, Diego González, His siblings, Eloisa (Jesus +) Dominguez, Adriana Peña, and several nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cristobal and Eva Peña and his brother Cristobal Peña.
Don Mario started his own import export company, where he was CEO. His other job was a full time Rancher. He graduated from Martin HS, served in the U. S. Army and attended LCC where he studied Business Administration. He loved spending time at his ranch, dining at all of his favorite restaurants with his wife and family. He had a deep faith in God and instilled in his children and grand-children to love and honor God. He was a friendly, upright, and hardworking man of great character. Don Mario was charismatic and enjoyed conversations with his family, friends and other ranchers. His advice and words of wisdom were always uplifting and encouraging. His laugh was contagious. Mario will be greatly missed and loved dearly by all who knew him.
Funeral Arrangements are under Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services.
Visitation and Funeral service – Wednesday Nov 10 (9:00 am) followed by burial at City Cemetery Veterans section.
