Marin De La Cruz

August 14, 1934 – December 17, 2020

 

Marin De La Cruz entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the age of 86.

Mr. De La Cruz had a long devoted career in auto mechanics and spent the majority of it as a state inspector. He retired at age 84, making him the oldest vehicle inspector in the state of Texas.

Mr. De La Cruz is preceded in death by his wife Dolores De La Cruz; parents, Gregorio (Margarita) De La Cruz; brothers, Guadalupe and Agustin.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Marin (Dora) De La Cruz, Jr., Arturo (Sylvia Elizondo) De La Cruz, Margarita (Jesus) Castillo, Olga Lydia (Miguel Martinez) Ramos, Hilda G. (Arturo) Pantoja, Alma D. Craig and Martha S. ( Belia Du Fresne) De La Cruz; a special goddaughter, Cristina Rivera; 24 grandchildren, Marin, III, Estrella C. and Marina De La Cruz, Diamond D. Cuellar, Andrea D. Potgieter, Ana R. De La Cruz, Angelica E. Tippett, Laura Q. Roycroft, Jose M. Jr., Tomas Quiroz, Juan F. Diaz, Daniella and Amanda Ramos, Marco G. Mancha, Jose A., Michelle A., Michael B. and Clarissa A. Martinez, Jose A. III, Carlos A., Priscilla Pantoja, Andrew A., Aimee D. Leal and Cristina Salinas.

Pallbearers will be Jose Marcelo Quiroz, Jr., Tomas Quiroz, Juan F. Diaz, Jose Angel Martinez, Jose A. Pantoja, III, Carlos Pantoja, Mark A. Zapata and Alejandro Villarreal.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ana R. De La Cruz, Marina De La Cruz, Angelica E. Tippett, Andrew A. Leal, Marco G. Mancha and Josué J. Elizondo.

For the safety of the public, the family will be live streaming the services at www.freddickey.com on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, starting at 9:30 am.
