María V. Montemayor, 84, was called into eternal rest by the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013, in Laredo, TX. A loving mother and homemaker, María always dedicated her life to her family and dearly loved her grandchildren. Soft-spoken and benevolent, Maria always had a kind word to share with those who had the privilege of knowing her. A member of the Guadalupanas and the Legion of Mary in Midland, TX, she always remained a very devout Catholic and encouraged everyone to prayer. María V. Montemayor was well loved, and she will be greatly missed by all who cherished and knew her.She was preceded in death by her parents: Jose Rangel Vásquez and Julia Canales Vásquez, her brother: Jorge Canales, sister: Anita Vásquez and great-grandson: Timothy Allen Joseph Wilburn.Mrs. Montemayor is survived by her husband of 65 years of marriage: RET Texas Ranger Pedro Gonzalez Montemayor, children: Rosalinda (Jesús) Rodríguez, Irma (+Robert) Overton, Pedro (Norma A.) A vigil service will commence at 6:30pm. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from the funeral home via cortège to Holy Family Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00am.
