Lydia was a kind and generous soul who always chose to see life with optimism. She cared deeply for those around her, offering warmth, encouragement, and friendship. What began as a bond of family grew into a cherished friendship as she became not just a step-sister, but a friend. Her passing comes as a great shock to us all, but she will forever be remembered for her warm heart, her caring spirit, and the radiant smile that brightened every room she entered. Ms. Lydia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. I first met Lydia through her daughter Claudia. Claudia and I were college roommates and I was able to get to know both Lydia and Ruben. The first thing I remember about Lydia is her mischievous grin. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease her family. Her love for her family was constantly present and her beautiful smile was just as constant. I also leaned to not ask her opinion unless you want the honest truth, because she would give you her honesty, lol. She attended my wedding 21 years and it will be strange to not hear about her when I’m talking to Claudia. I was blessed to know Ms. Lydia Gonzalez and I know I’ll see her again in Heaven.

I will truly miss my good friend and my first nursing roommate. We got along great. Then she traded me for another roommate, Ruben. I’m honored to be godmother to their children. Love and miss you Lydia.
