Obituary

In Loving memory of Leonor “Nora” Garza Cavazos

    January 12, 1937- November 27, 2024.

Mrs. Cavazos is preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo “Lalo” Cavazos, her grandchildren, Graciela Michelle Santos, David Gerardo Rincon Jr., and son in law Jesus Santos III. Left to cherish her memory are her two siblings and her children: San Juanita Tommy (Eduardo) Curbeira, Eduardo (Ludivina) Cavazos Jr, Maria Imelda (Jesus+) Santos, and Rosalinda (Jesus) Ballesteros. As well as her 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a great deal of family and friends who will long for her and her beautiful smile.

Nora, a devoted mother, a faithful wife, and proud business owner entered her heavenly home peacefully on Wednesday evening at the age of 87. She was known for her unwavering love and dedication to her husband Lalo and raising her family. She owned a neighborhood store on Willow St. by the name of, Cavazos Fruit Stand, for nearly 20 years, and worked with LISD Transportation for another 20. Her love for books kept her sharp and she was always eager to tell us about what she was reading, a part of her will always echo into the stories she loved and the hearts that got to hear them. She brought light and laughter into every room, and although her spirit moves on, her love and memories will last forever. And if there is a Bingo Hall in heaven, she’s found her way there!

Her children and grandchildren will forever be grateful for planting the seeds of faith in our hearts. It was her love for God that helped us all to see the beauty of a life rooted in faith.

She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
