Obituary

Ret. Capt. Julian H. Flores, 86, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Julian was a retired firefighter who worked over 34 years for the community of Laredo, and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Flores is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Olivia Flores; parents-in-law, Tomas and Bertha Arredondo; brother-in-law, Tommy Arredondo; grandmother-in-law, Francisca (Jose) Chavez; grandfather-in-law, Francisco Cornejo.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 63 years, Hilda A. Flores; children, Lucille R. Rios, Julian H. (Linda) Flores, Jr.; grandchildren, Rick (Priscilla) Rios, Tiffany Rios, Jessica (David) Garza, Jennifer Flores; brother, Juan Jose Flores; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Garza, Emily Chapa, Rochelle Hinojosa, Diego Hinojosa; brother-in-law, Jose Luis Arredondo; sisters-in-law, Sara (Alex) Saenz, Sylvia (Manuel) Ramirez, Sonia (Luis) Negrete, Sandra (Alex) Mata, and Margie Arredondo; as well as other family and friends that will greatly miss him.

The family will be receiving guests, Friday, September 4, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 pm. Cremation will be held at a later date.

For the safety of the public, the family will also be live streaming the services at www.freddickey.com on Friday, starting at 5:00 pm.

Dear Hilda and family and Juan Jose, We would like to extend our deepest condolences on your recent loss. Both my mother, Melida Espinoza Jimenez, and my aunt Josefina Espinoza Lopez, have wonderful memories of their cousins, Julian and Juan Jose. My mother and aunt are the daughters of Maria Flores Espinoza (Tia Maria), who was the older sister of Julian Flores, the father of Julian and Juan Jose.
