Our beloved father Julian Demetrio Botello Gallegos, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2020. He passed away at Laredo Medical Center at the age of 88.

He is preceded in death by his wife Velester Serna Botello, parents Julian Botello Benavides and Maria Elva Gallegos, brothers Herculano and Nicolas Botello, and his daughter Juanita Botello.

Julian is survived by his children, Julian (Rosalinda) Botello, Guadalupe Botello, Victor Botello, Juan (Geraldine) Botello, Laura Botello, and Claudia Botello. Siblings Carmen (Luis) Andrade, Evelia (Heriberto) Saenz, Manuela Chavarria, Juan (Amelia) Botello, and Maria (Mike) Sosa; grandchildren, Julian (Andria) Botello III, Monica Botello, Adolfo (Carly) Botello, Andrew Botello, Anali Botello, Talina Abrego, Salma El Mandari; great-grandchildren, Luke Montalvo, Kiska Salinas, Elijah Botello, Gulliana and Julian Botello(5th).

Nan, as he was known by many, was born in Vallecillo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He married Velester Serna Botello on February 12, 1957 and moved to Laredo, Texas in the 1950’s. Julian was a rancher whose passion was livestock and farming, his ranch brought him great joy. Then in his early years he worked in Wisconsin, Illinois, and California. On his return to Laredo, he started his employment with Armadillo Construction and Cantu Electric Company.

Our father was a very hard worker, devoted family man, faithful to La Virgen de San Juan, well respected by his family, friends, and loved by many. Great sense of humor and his passion for drinking Pepsi are just some of the many memories left for us to cherish.

The family of Julian would like to thank Dr. Octavio Guzman, Dr. Gilberto Garza-Lozano, Laredo Medical Center staff and all medical staff who have taken care of him through the years especially his last days at LMC. Our family would like to thank everyone for always bringing joy and happiness to our dad.
