Juana M. Torres passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 92 on Dec. 31, 2018.
She was born on March 27, 1926 to Refugio+ and Rafaela+ Moreno in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
She worked at Our Lady of Guadalupe School for over 25 years until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed being around the students and helping out in the different fundraising projects.
She is preceded in death by her husband Salvador, her daughter San Juanita, and her sister Cuca, and her brothers and sisters-in-law Jose Angel, Carlos (Amalia), Marin (Angelica), Leopoldo (Lupe), Jesus, and Rafael Moreno.
Left to cherish her memory are her, daughters; Blanca (Jaime) Meza and Thelma Torres; grandsons, Jaime Jr. (Melissa), Javier (Debbie), Jorge, and Jesus Meza; her great-grandchildren, Javier Jr., Julissa, Jaime III, and Tatiana; her brother and sisters-in-law, Esteban (Aurora), Adela, Maria del Carmen Moreno, and Francisca (Domingo) Soto, as well as many relatives, nieces, and nephews.
Special thanks to her caregivers Esperanza Lopez and Jasmin Gaona. Also special thanks to the St. Jude Home Health staff and Dr. Ricardo G. Cigarroa.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A memorial mass will start at 9:00 am. Inurnment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
