Our beloved mother, Josefina C. Blanco, 94, entered to her eternal rest on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at her home surrounded by her children.
”Pepa” as she was known to her close friends and relatives, was born on September 18, 1924, to Maria and Herman Chapa.
“Pepa” was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. Her strong devotion to them and her Catholic faith were her greatest traits. She was quiet, compassionate, kind, and loyal woman. When faced with life’s challenges, with dignity and through her faith in God’s grace, she made the best out of every situation. Her steadfast, love and gentle smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
“Pepa” is preceded in death by her parents Maria and Herman Chapa and her beloved husband of 56 years Leandro L. Blanco.
Left to cherish her memory are children; Juan E. (Sylvia) Blanco, Leandro Blanco Jr, Nora A. (Renee) Cortes, and Diana M. Pena; grandchildren, Amanda (Eduardo Jimenez) Peña, Arnold Peña, Jessica Blanco, Jackie Blanco, 9 great-grandchildren along with numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral Procession will depart the chapel at 9:30 am to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan E. Blanco, Leandro Blanco Jr., Renee Cortes, Jr., Eduardo Jimenez, Rodolfo F. Juarez, and Arnold Peña. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus “Chuy” Juarez, Rodolfo U. Juarez and Juan Francisco Juarez.
