Jose Ricardo Cantu (a.k.a. Poppa Rick) always carried a smile on his face no matter the trials he went through. Poppa Rick was the life of any party, he always made everyone laugh with his comments on how the Cowboys were going to win the superbowl every year before the season began or how Tony Romo was the greatest QB of all time. His love for Metal opened up my eyes to the beauty of the music genre.
But of all these things nothing was more beautiful than the love Poppa Rick had for his son Lil Rick. Everytime they spoke to each other, one could always see and hear the respect and love they had for one another. And there was never a day I was over to their house that I wouldn't hear Poppa Rick look at Lil Rick and say "I love you, son," and lil Rick, without hesitation, would look back and say "I love you too, dad"
