Jose M. Chore Rodriguez

On Monday, April 23, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. our beloved father, Jose M. “Chore” Rodriguez was called into Heaven to be in the presence of the Lord. Mr. Jose M. Rodriguez was born in Islitas, Texas but lived most of his life in Laredo, Texas. He was well liked, respected and known in his community. He started working in the fields then became a successful carpenter. Mr. Rodriguez built himself up to become a small business owner. He owned J.M. Rodriguez Electric Service, Rodriguez Meat Market and Cheyenne Electric Service. He was a hard worker, great provider and was always there to lend a hand. Mr. Rodriguez taught all his sons, brothers and brother-in-laws the electrician trade. He would hire and train anyone that needed a job, housed any family member or friend that was in need of a place to stay. He never expected anything in return, humble he was and giving was a gift that he had. We will forever miss you! Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his Grandsons; Joey Lira and Carlo Rodriguez; Mother, Estela Moncada; Father, Agustin Rodriguez and Brother, Gilberto Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 52 years of marriage, Severina G. Rodriguez; Daughters, Jane (Herm) Lira, Sylvia (Roy) Collins, Maria Luisa (Juan) Garcia, Sandy Rodriguez and Stephany (Sergio) Gonzalez; Sons, Jose M. Rodriguez, Carlos (Cristina) Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez, Jerry (Priscilla) Rodriguez, Manuel (Marisol) Rodriguez and Frank Rodriguez, 29 Grandchildren, Vanessa, Liza, Krissel, Joseph, Carlitos, Kayla, Krista, Kendra, Karla, Alexa, Ruben, Jr., Shelsie, Hilario, Jesse, Angelina, Joey, Manuel, Jr., Destiny, Jacob, Aliya, Mark, Cristine, Jerry, Jr., Max, Joanna, Gisselle, Sergio, Jr., Shelby and Roy, Jr.; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Horatio, Lailah, Jackie, Armando, Jr., Angel and Carlos, III. Also surviving Mr. Rodriguez are his 4 sisters, 3 brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Family will be receiving relatives and friends Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will be officiated at 7:00 pm. Monday, April 30 a private service for immediate family will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
