Olivia Leven left a message on January 21, 2025:
I live in Michigan. Not easy for me to travel at 87, but my Lord Jesus heard my prayers. Thanks to my dear Debby, the mother of my nephews Joey and Marco, I was able to talk to my dear brother who was very ill. I will never forget all of the care, love, and support all three of them gave to my brother, Jose Vara. On behalf of all of my children, they are forever grateful to you. God will bless you for doing his work.

I am deeply hurt from my beloved brother’s passing and there is a big void in my heart from it. We were always very close growing up. He took care of our mother for 6 years when she had Alzheimer’s and I can’t thank him enough for all of that work. When my husband died three years ago, he always made sure I was okay. He would send me prayers, songs, and recipes to help me heal. On my birthday and during the holidays, he would always be the first one to wish me well. I will miss him forever. I will always love him for the amazing brother that he was to me. I know we will be together again some day with God.

Toto, I will always remember you laughing. I will remember you singing at Tony’s Bar across the river and having drinks with my brother Hector and other friends. I will remember you singing TENIAS QUE VOLVER. I will remember you giving me tips on our favorite game of Golf. I will look forward to playing that game with you in a beautiful golf course somewhere in time. May God Bless you Toto.

My Dearest Dad - Words cant explain the void that is left with you gone. We all greatly miss you and will forever keep you in our hearts. Personally, I am going to miss the daily "Good Morning" texts that I knew would one day end. You helped me get through the toughest times in my life and never waivered your love. I will forever cherish the memories of us racing 4-wheelers on the coast down in South Padre, the long drives to Michigan, the scooters, the cars, fishing, golfing, ranching and everything else you blessed me with. You were always my pillar of strength I fell on many times. While I am glad the suffering is gone the pain left behind will be a challenge to overcome. Say Hi to Alexa and know that I love you dearly. Thank you for being my dad. See you on the other side, pops. Love you, Pepper
