Jose D. Mendoza

Jose D. Mendoza, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Mr. Mendoza proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a World War II Veteran aboard the USSA Navy Nashville-CL 43. Mr. Mendoza was one of the founders and member of Laredo Fire Fighter’s Union and later retiring from Laredo Fire Department after many years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents; Damaso & Maria De La Luz Mendoza, sisters; Guadalupe (Antonio) Flores, Paula (Apolinao) Campos and daughter; Graciela Mendoza. Mr. Mendoza is survived by his wife; Maria De La Luz Mendoza of 72 years of marriage, children; Carmen (Hector) Pearson, Jose (Sara) Mendoza Jr., Alicia (Wenceslao Jr.) Rodriguez, Guadalupe (Juan) Zuniga, Roberto (Amelia) Mendoza, Juanita (Carlos) Pena, Yolanda Wright, Carlos (Leticia) Mendoza, Alma Mendoza, sister; Maria De La Luz Santos, thirty two grandchildren, forty one great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Family members will be receiving friends and family at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 5:00pm -9:00pm with a rosary recited at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday November 11, 2011 at 8:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be: Wenceslao Rodriguez III,Hector Person Jr., Gustavo Wright, Homero Morales, Carlos Mendiola, Roberto Mendoza Jr, Marco Pompa Jr and Jeffrey Almendariz. Honorary Pallbearers; Stephen Young and Joe Anthony Mendoza.
