Obituary

Ines Palacios age 80 passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022, in the presence of her beloved children, and family members.

Ines Palacios was born in Texas, but she made Chicago her home for over 50 years. Ines raised a family of six with her husband Antonio+. Over the years, she has become a strong advocate for her Pilsen community, involving herself and taking personal interest in community affairs. She became known as Má Palacios by most of the neighborhood and, especially, the neighborhood kids. Ines never refused help to those who needed it and, being a living example of “It takes a village”, Ines often gave a helping hand in raising many of the neighborhood children.

Ines is preceded in death by her parents Santos and Amanda; brothers, Jose and Roy.

Ines was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Palacios; mother of Antonio “Tony” Jr., Ricardo “Ricky” (Sylvia), Heriberto “Eddie” (Carolina), Belinda “Nena” (Henry+), Patricia “Patsy” (Arturo), and Ruth “Ruthie” (Camilo); Grandmother to Brittni, Arturo “BT”, Christian, LeaLani, Paryss, Kaila, Eliane “Eli”, CJ, Ricardo “Little Ricky”, Raygan, and great-grandmother to DJ “Nudy”. She is also survived by her siblings, eight brothers and four sisters; Santos (Nayo) Gutierrez, Enrique (Henry) Gutierrez, Amando (Baby) Gutierrez, James (Jaime) Gutierrez, Juan (Boy) Gutierrez, Richard (Ricky) Gutierrez, Jesse Gutierrez, Herberto (Beto) Gutierrez, Norma Gutierrez, Thelma Gutierrez San Miguel, Linda Gutierrez Hernandez and Ruth Gutierrez Ramos. She was a beloved aunt and great aunt to countless nieces and nephews too many to name, and is survived by numerous other family friends.

Ines will be greatly missed and forever loved.

The family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in the Angelus chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5pm to 9pm. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. Hi Mom, so, we are back in Laredo just like you wanted be. This time you will stay here and I will be leaving for a while, and like Arnold would stay, “I’ll be back”. We were so blessed to have you as long as we did. It was my mission in life to make sure you were well taken care of. This task was given to me by my father, and I have completed it to the 10th degree with pleasure, and all of my love. You know that you were loved beyond anyone’s imagination. I miss you greatly more than you’ll ever know. I’ve already had quite a few of our friends and neighbors come and make a condolence visit. You are loved and greatly missed. I just wanted to say hello and I will see you soon. Love you, Tony
