Obituary

Ildefonso “Poncho” Perez Jr, 75, joined our Lord in his heavenly kingdom on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

He was born on August 22, 1946. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was happily married to Yolanda Perez, had three children and six grandchildren.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served two years in Germany and then Vietnam where he earned several medals including the Bronze Star, National Defense Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam TET Campaign Medal from 1966 – 1968. After he was Honorably Discharged from the war he desired to be a business owner and was very much respected and loved by his family, friends, and devoted customers. His passion was being at his shop, Perez Tire Center, as early as 5 am and spending as much time at his ranch alongside his family and friends. The ranch is where he felt at home caring for his many animals and his land. He will be remembered for his kindness, crazy humor and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother Marina Perez, brother Antonio Perez, and cousin/best friend Oscar “Kalin” Vela.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Yolanda Perez; three children Mayra G. Perez, Veronica Rendon (Erick), and Ildefonso Perez III (Adriana); six grandchildren; Erick Rendon Jr, Daniel Adan Rendon, Samantha Perez, Sabrina Perez, Sophia Perez, and Selena Perez: Sister Dorina Rossell; Mother in Law Guillermina Lozano as well as other family and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, April 11, 2022 from 5pm to 9pm at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services on 1320 Trey Drive where a vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Morning April 12, 2022 departing from Fred Dickey Funeral Chapel at 8:15 to Guadalupe Church for a Mass at 9am.
