Obituary

Guadalupe Espinoza Ruiz Rodriguez, 83, entered the presence of God, Our Father, on May 21st, 2019 at Doctor’s Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and lived a beautiful long life as resident of Laredo, Texas.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband, Ramiro Adolfo Rodriguez, her parents, Jose Dolores Cardenas Ruiz and Guadalupe Fernandez Espinoza Ruiz, brothers, Gilberto Ruiz, Arturo (infant) Ruiz, and Manuel Ruiz, sister, Rebecca Ruiz Laurel, father-in-law, Juan de Dios Chapa Rodriguez, mother-in-law, Josefa Salazar Rodriguez, sister-in-laws, Hilda Rodriguez Ayala and Raquela Rodriguez Gonzalez, and brother-in-laws, Juan H. Rodriguez and Gustavo Rodriguez.

She is survived by her children, Linda Patricia Rodriguez, Sandra Ludivina Roel (Rene), Ramiro Adolfo Rodriguez Jr. (Irma), Maria Guadalupe Munoz (Francisco), Juan de Dios Rodriguez (Esmeralda), Josefa Marquez (Rosalio), Severo Severiano Rodriguez (Patricia), and Luis Javier Rodriguez (Gustavo Tamayo), 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, brothers, Jose Maria (Chema) Ruiz (Raquel) and Arturo Ruiz (VAndrea), sisters, Raquel R. Tays (V Guillermo), Natalia R. Solis (V Braulio), Sylvia R. Zuazua (Raul), and many other relatives and family.

Guadalupe was married for 54 glorious years to her beloved husband. Guadalupe will be remembered for having a big loving heart. She was always quick to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a great wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and especially friend. Guadalupe was always filled with pure joy whenever she was surrounded her family. Her smile could light up a room.

She was known as a hardworking woman and was a great cook. Everyone that knew her loved her cooking, her flour tortillas, mole, tamales, guisado de cabrito, panes hechos en brazas, and many others delicious Mexican food. She loved to be in her garden and raised many farm animals.

Mrs. Rodriguez worked at several other jobs before she worked at Santos Store (close to International Bridge #2), back in the years at Glass Kitchen across Martin High School, Laredo ISD for several years, and Mary Help of Christian School. Mrs. Rodriguez was a small business owner of a store named Mangana Hein Drive-In. She was an active member of the La Perla Community Center and elected treasure when it first opened.

Guadalupe was a migrant worker almost all her entire life.  She learned many life values while working in the fields which she taught her eight children. She along with her husband helped their children understand how hard their work was in the fields by bringing them to work alongside them. She wished for her children not to have to work the burden of fieldwork and hoped for all her children to continue school to have a better job and life than she did. She was devoted to her family and inspired them to love one another unconditionally. She always kept our family united.

Pallbearers will be Ramiro Perez III, Ramiro Adolfo Rodriguez III, Rody Roel, Juan De Dios Rodriguez Jr., Amanda Ganette Munoz-Martinez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Sergio Adolfo Rodriguez, and Anissa Alexis Marquez Umanzor. WWW.JW.ORG
