Guadalupe Benavides Campos, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on July 7, 1942, Lupe centered his life on love for family, hard work, and generosity. He was always there to help and loved telling stories of his life, from Cerralvo, Nuevo León, to the home and life he built in Laredo. Guided by hard work, faith, and family, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and enduring love.

Lupe is joyfully reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Anna María, his dear grandson, Jaedon Chase, his parents, and other family members who preceded him in death.

Lupe’s legacy lives on in his children: Joe (April) Benavides, Rosie (Mike) Gutierrez, Hector (Kelley) Benavides, Lilly (Manuel) Benavides, Gilbert (Anel) Benavides, and Dr. David (Lora) Benavides; his grandchildren Jose Roel, Javier Roldan, Yovanna, Amber (Alvaro), Miguel Angel III, Anali, Ashley, Kassandra, Christopher, Manuel, Aleksandra, Matthew, Emmanuel, Gilberto II, Victoria, Alyson, Braelyn, and Joaquin; and his great-grandchildren Andreanna, Weston, and Taetum.

He is also survived by his extended family and the many friends whose lives he touched with warmth and generosity.

The family will be receiving guests on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will begin at 9:00 am. Funeral services will conclude after mass and cremation will be held at a later date.
