Obituary

Graciela Juarez, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at the age of 81. Graciela was born on February 7, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Uvaldo and Concepcion Juarez. She was preceded in death by her father Uvaldo Juarez, mother Concepcion Juarez, and brother Roberto Juarez.

Graciela graduated from Martin High School in Laredo, Texas, and went on to build a respected career as a registered lab technician, serving her community at Laredo Mercy Hospital and Gonzalez Lab. Her commitment to work reflected her love for helping others.

A devout Catholic, Graciela was a lifelong member of San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church, where she found strength and comfort in her faith. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and she was known for never missing an opportunity to send Christmas cards, ensuring her love and blessings were felt by all.

Graciela’s life was filled with many passions. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, she never missed a game, passionately cheering on her favorite team with loyalty. In her youth, she was an avid bowler and part of a championship league, a testament to her competitive spirit and love for the sport. She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and cherished family gatherings, where her favorite dish, finger ribs, was always a delight.

Graciela is survived by her siblings, Juanita Elizondo, Uvaldo (Mary) Juarez, Enrique (San Juanita) Juarez, Emilia Garza, Sister-in-law Araceli Juarez, many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.

Her favorite sayings, “Dios por delante,” “Orale pues,” and “Te quiero mucho, que Dios los bendiga,” will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.

Graciela’s love, faith, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but always remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

The family will be receiving guests on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Cremation will be held at a later date.

She was like a second grandmother to my daughter. My daughter enjoyed going to her house over the summer when she was young because she always had good snacks. We will miss you Grace!
