Gloria S. “Sandy” Perez, 72, was called to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Mrs. Perez lived a long life here in Laredo where she graduated from Martin High School in 1964. Her very first job was at Glass Kitchen on Park St. where she met her husband Emilio of 55 yrs. She spent her time working at Woolco, Wal-Mart and Target where she retired from her retail career in 2005.

Mrs. Perez is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her father Hilario Garza, and her infant daughter Marlene.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Emilio Perez; her mother, Gloria Montez; four children, Emilio (Carrie) Perez, III, Leticia (Jesus) De La Cerda, Alejandro (Lisa) Perez, Sr., and Maricela (Mike Jimenez) Perez; twelve grandchildren, Nyssa, Clarissa, Melissa, Enrique, Saul Jr., Carlos, Daniel, Alyssa, Samuel, Austin, Alejandra, Maegan and Alejandro Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Esperanza, Zailey, Jacob, Liliana, and Jose. She is also survived by her five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Villa Ambulance Services, US Renal South, Siloe Home Health, Saldivar Home Health, Elite Home Therapy, her doctors and all staff at LMC, Doctors and Specialty Hospitals.

The family will receive guests Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Cremation services will be at a later day.

Sandy was one of the first associates I met when I went to apply for a job at Walmart more than 30 years ago. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with her until she left our store. My deepest condolences to her family and friends on her passing, I pray you will be comforted by the memories you have made together.

My heartfelt condolences in the loss of Sandra. We were childhood friends. My father would give all my friends a ride to school in our teens and Sandra was one of those friends. May she rest in peace.

Emilio, I know this note of encouragement is never enough to wipe your tears and sorrows away in this time of grieving. I just want to let you know that our deepest sympathies are with you and your family. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your wife. It was an honor to have known such a great person. Sincere condolences.
