Obituary

Our hearts are heavy but we have found peace with our Lord. Our Beloved Mother, Wife, and Friend Maria Gloria Almaraz, was called by our Lord Monday, December 16, 2024.

Gloria was born in Falfurrias, Texas on February 6, 1939 to Elvira and Jesus Garcia. She had 5 siblings; Rolando, Jesus, Noel, Diana, and Hector. She dedicated herself to teaching for over 20 years at Clark Middle School. She was a great woman that was humble and full of love. She made lifelong friends and will be greatly missed by her loved ones and she will always reside in our hearts.

She is to join her husband of 63 years, Leonardo. She is survived by her three children: Jose Ricardo Almaraz (Leticia Medina), Michael Almaraz, and Ana Lisa Almaraz (Ignacio Pascal); as well as her grandchildren, Ashley Almaraz, Lesley Almaraz, Jose Almaraz, Katlynn Almaraz, John Medina, Ana Sophia Almaraz, Diego Almaraz, Andrea Pascal, Gerardo Pascal and Gillianna Galvan. A heartfelt thanks to her caregiver, Angela Mireles, for her dedicated support.

The family will be receiving guests Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday, December 19, 2024, starting at 8:00 am. Funeral procession will follow to St. Patrick Catholic Church, where mass will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery for burial at 12:00 pm. A celebration of life will be hosted at 1:00 pm in the reception hall located at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services.
