Genoveva Garcia, 86 of Laredo, Texas passed away peacefully on August 20,2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 6,1939, in Mirando City, Texas , Genoveva lived a life dedicated to service, compassion and family.
She began her professional life as an elementary school teacher, touching the lives of many young students with her warmth and care. Later she answered a further calling to serve her community, as a registered nurse, where her kindness, compassion , and quiet strength touched many lives.
Her greatest joy was her family especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished with all her heart. Genoveva found peace in her garden, joy in her loved ones, and purpose in helping others.
She is lovingly survived by her husband Guillermo Garcia; her daughter, Adriana (Alfonso) Ornelas Jr.; her son, Guillermo (Estela) Garcia Jr.; and her brother , Hector Garcia .
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Alejandra Ornelas, Alfonso Ornelas III, Ava Ornelas, Guillermo Garcia III and Brissa Garcia.
In accordance with her wishes , the family will hold a private celebration of her life.
She will be remembered for her gentle heart and the deep love she held for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
