Francisco Javier Lopez
February 20, 1967 –September 4, 2025
Francisco Javier Lopez, age 58, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Francisco was a devoted husband, a proud public servant, and a joyful presence in the lives of all who knew him.
Francisco and Melissa were married for 15 beautiful years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
At the age of 23, Francisco began his long and dedicated career with the Laredo Police Department, where he served faithfully for 32 years. He retired as an investigator, respected by his colleagues and the community he served with honor.
Known for his lively spirit and big heart, Francisco had a deep passion for life. He loved golfing and playing softball, and never missed a chance to watch a football or baseball game. One of his proudest moments in golf was winning 1st place Net, Men’s Fifth Flight at the 2022 National Pan American Golf Association Competition and Tournament in El Paso, Texas. One of his greatest joys was cooking out for friends and family — outdoor grilling was more than a hobby, it was a celebration of togetherness. His “man cave” was his sanctuary, a place filled with laughter, stories, and good company.
Francisco will be remembered for his humor, joyfulness, and kindness. His warmth and light will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
