The department received several A+ ratings because of his hard work and dedication to his job. He was bestowed the Administrator of the Year Award shortly before his retirement.
He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Astros, but his true passion was music. He loved all types of music, especially The Beatles. He would pick up his guitar anywhere, anytime to sing and play his heart out for hours on end. You might have seen him singing karaoke at the restaurants and bars around town. Never afraid, in fact, eager to be the first one on stage to sing a song. If you knew Wayne you know his great sense of humor as he was always cracking jokes, smiling and laughing with his friends and family.
We would like to thank Jesus “Wencho” Meza. He was a very loyal friend to Wayne since high school. Thank you for always being there for him. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
Wayne’s jokes and laughter will be dearly missed. He was a friend to everyone and loyal to many.
As our father would say, “Rockers never die, they fade away, and multiply.” Until we meet again Dad, you are in our hearts forever.
